Pupil Premium and Sports Funding
Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is a sum of money which the school receives for every pupil who is currently in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM) or who has been in receipt of FSM over the past 6 years (Ever 6 FSM). Pupil Premium also covers those who are in the care of the Local Authority and those pupils that are children of service personnel. The main aim of the grant is to raise the achievement of children from disadvantaged backgrounds and to close the gap with their peers who are not entitled to this support. Nationally, children eligible for the grant achieve at a much lower level than their peers.
The Government believes that the PPG is the best way to address these underlying inequalities. In spending this funding, our key guiding principle is to ensure that all children entitled to Pupil Premium make outstanding progress, not just those who are lower attaining. Most of our pupils start school with little or no English and we aim for all children to make accelerated progress in order to reach or exceed age related expectations as they move up the school.
Our decision making is informed through analysing our data and regular parental engagement. We have planned the use of the Pupil Premium Grant to maximise progress and attainment, drawing on a range of resources.

Sports Funding
At Nanaksar Primary School we recognise the contribution of PE to the health and well-being of the children. We believe that a varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all our children.
Our School Sport’s Funding will enable us to develop our provision in various ways. Please see below for our latest report.
